【今井ゼミ】英語サイト「Palette」2024年度リニューアル！

今井ゼミ4年の鬼頭花音と和田彩希です。歴代の今井ゼミ生がつくり上げてきたウェブサイト「Palette」(パレット)はご存知ですか？
Hi, everyone!
This is Kanon Kito and Saki Wada. We are seniors in the Imai seminar. Do you know “Palette,” a website that past students created?
Paletteは、2017年に今井ゼミ生によって開設されました。女子大学に通う学生として、ESGやSDGsに関する観点から日本の良さや現状を海外の学生に向けて発信しよう！というものです。毎年1年以上かけてウェブサイトが新しいものに更新されています。先生方と学生同士で協力して作成するウェブサイトを公開する時は、大きな達成感を感じられます。私たちは、ついこの間その達成感を味わいましたが、ほっとする時が来たかと思えば、既に次の記事の執筆に取り掛かっています。
Palette was started in 2017 by the Imai Seminar. As students at a women’s university, we seek to communicate both the strengths and challenges of Japan to overseas students around the world through the lens of ESG and the SDGs perspectives. With the support of instructors, we spend more than a year creating a new version of the website each year. We feel great accomplishment when the website is finally published, but that feeling doesn’t last long because we’re already busy working on the next article.
私たち今井ゼミ4年の7人が運営する「Palette 2024」では、3年次の夏に行ったゼミ合宿で取材した群馬県の世界遺産や女性農業起業家について執筆しました。また現在は、2025年4月から開催されている大阪万博を切り口に、社会やビジネスの持続可能性の観点から執筆しています。
In Palette 2024, which is run by seven students of fourth-year Imai seminar students, we wrote about the World Heritage sites and a female agricultural entrepreneur in Gunma Prefecture that we covered at a seminar camp in the summer 2024.
Currently, we are writing about the Expo 2025 Osaka, which opened in April 2025, from the perspective of sustainability of society and business, taking the Osaka Expo.
2025年大阪万博のテーマは、「いのち輝く未来社会のデザイン」です。新しい技術や展示を発表するだけではなく、世界が直面する課題を解決するアイデアを共有する場として開催されています。日本での万博は、2005年の愛知県で開催されて以来、20年ぶりです。「いのち」とのキーワードから、やはり技術の発展と同じくらい人々の生活の持続可能性が大切であることが分かります。私たちの多様なトピックを通して、少しでも読者に新しい学びを伝えたいという私たちの思いが届くと幸いです。
The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” goes beyond just showing new technologies and exhibits. It aims to be a place where ideas to solve today’s global challenges are shared. This is the first World Expo in Japan in 20 years, following Expo 2005 in Aichi. With “life” at its core, the event reminds us that sustainable living is as important as technological progress. Through our various topics, we hope to share fresh insights and encourage thoughtful conversation among our readers.
Palette 2024のロゴは自分たちの手で製作しました。プロのデザイナーであるケヴィン・フォーリー先生のご助言もいただきながら、描いては修正して、描いては修正して、やっと完成したこのロゴには私たちの様々な思いが込められています。
We created this logo with our own hands. Along with professional advice from a designer, Mr. Kevin Foley, after many revisions, we finally completed the logo, which contains many thoughts and feelings.
その思いを少しご紹介しましょう。Palleteということでパレットの絵の具の色を表現し様々な色を使いました。 そして、私たち「女子大学生の視点」を表現するために女性の横顔を取り入れました。女性の横顔の周りにカラフルな色を配置することで、「自分たちの色を引き出し、今までにない形で未来を描く」という意味を込めました。
In our new logo, we used various colors to express the colors of the palette of paints. We also incorporated a woman’s profile to express our “female college student’s point of view.” By placing multi-colors around the woman’s profile, we meant to draw out our unique colors and paint the future in a way that has never been done before.
今まで知らなかった心の引き出しを使い、自分たちの色を引き出していきながら記事を書いていきたいという思いを込めながら今井ゼミではPaletteの記事を書いていきます。是非チェックしてみてください！
