Letters from Boston 2025 #3 SFC has started!

みなさん、こんにちは。

ボストン記者の小池彩花です。

Hello, everyone.

This is Ayaka Koike, a reporter from Boston.

ボストンでの生活が始まり、3ヶ月が経とうとしています。今回はSFC(Showa Friendship Circle)について紹介したいと思います！

I’ve been almost three months since I started my life in Boston. Today, I’d like to introduce a program about SFC (Showa Friendship Circle)!

SFCとは、ボストン留学中の学生と現地のボランティアが交流するプログラムのことです。

SFC is a program where students studying abroad in Boston can interact with local volunteers.

普段はキャンパス内で寮生活を行っている私たちですが、このプログラムを通じて、ボストンで暮らす人々の実際の生活を体験することができます。

Although we usually live in dorms on campus,this program lets us experience the real lives of people living in Boston.

私も、SFCに申し込んで4月から教会へ行ったり、SFC方のお家へブランチを作りに行ったりさまざまなアクティビティを経験してきました。

Since I joined SFC in April, I’ve had many great experiences. For example, going to church and cooking brunch at the homes of SFC members.

SFCでの活動は、どれも楽しく、現地の方々との交流は英語力の上達も実感できるため、とても充実しています。

Each activity has given me a deeper understanding of the local culture and helped me feel more connected to the community.

今回はなかでも印象に残っているアクティビティについてご紹介します。

Today, I’d like to share one of the most memorable activities.

先日、SFCの方と野球観戦に行ってきました！

Few days ago, I went to a baseball game with SFC!

ボストンには、フェンウェイパークという名前の野球場があります。MLBボストン・レッドソックスの本拠地です。

There’s a stadium in Boston called Fenway Park, which is the home of the Boston Red Sox, a Major League Baseball team.

RedSox vs New York Yankees の試合を観戦しました。試合は接戦で大盛り上がりでした。最終的にRed Sox が勝利して、とても有意義な時間でした！！

We watched a game between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

It was a close match and the atmosphere was really exciting!

In the end, the Red Sox won, and it turned out to be such a unforgettable experience!

フェンウェイパークは昭和ボストンからのアクセスも良いため、留学に来た際は是非、野球観戦を楽しんで欲しいです！

Fenway Park is also easy to access from Showa Boston, so if you study abroad here, I highly recommend going to a baseball game!
